I‘m a huge fan of the Road To Avonlea TV series and it was so fun to read this again. It has that same warm and cozy vibe as the AOGG series. I‘m looking forward to book 2 because it‘s been 10 years since I read it and I don‘t really remember anything about it. LMM‘s books are perfect when you need an escape from harsh reality. 5⭐️

Book 2 in the Lady Sherlock series is another pick. The deeper I get into this series the more I‘m enjoying it. I love the twist of Sherlock actually being a woman. I think Charlotte is a badass and I like that she is so unusual. It‘s refreshing. I‘d highly recommend this series! 4⭐️

I needed a new series to listen to and luckily the entire Lady Sherlock series is on Audible Plus. Book 1 is a good start to the series and I really enjoy the twist — Charlotte Holmes masquerades as Sherlock Holmes and it actually works. Very clever and I‘m really enjoying the series so far. I‘m already almost finished with book 3! 4⭐️ The narrator is quite good as well.

The dual storylines of Ada and Matilda in 1920s Mississippi is sometimes hard to read, but I enjoyed reading about one of my favorite time periods from a completely different perspective. These girls have to work together to survive the harsh realities of life. Would like to read more from this author. The audiobook/narrator was well-done. 4⭐️

I must confess I was pretty disappointed in this book. I think they were going for a cross between Downton Abbey and Agatha Christie but it sorely falls short of the mark. Why, you ask? I don‘t care about any of these people. They are almost all highly unlikable and hard to keep straight, although maybe that‘s because I listened to the #audiobook - the end was decent but overall, this was a big disappointment. 2.75⭐️

I‘m giving this a low pick. I had to read her next book after finishing Bernadette. It took awhile to get into but by the second half I was really enjoying it. I went the #audiobook route and it‘s a quick listen. It won‘t be everyone‘s cup of tea and is really nothing like Bernadette but some people can definitely relate to it. 3.75⭐️

I see this book come up in discussions on Reddit at least once a week as “the most disturbing book they‘ve ever read”. It was hard to get through. Rather slow at times, horrifying, yet like a train wreck you can‘t look away. I wouldn‘t say it‘s the most disturbing thing I‘ve ever read but it‘s very psychologically disturbing and will stick with you for awhile. It will really make you think and would be perfect for a book club. So sad, especially⬇️

JenlovesJT47 The end! You can probably ask 5 different people about this book and nobody will agree. #horror 3w

This has been on my TBR forever. I‘m not gonna lie, things have been pretty craptastic around here lately and I needed something to make me laugh. This was on a bunch of funniest books list and I figured, why not? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Guys, I freaking loved this book! It has an underlying tinge of sadness to it but I love the characters. Bee is a little badass and I wish I had her spunk at that age. The #audiobook was so good! So many lol moments. 😅 5⭐️

I know some people don‘t enjoy book 4 in the AOGG books as much as the others, but I love this one. Maybe because I love books written in epistolary format (would have LOVED to see some letters from Gilbert to Anne!). There are so many interesting characters and lots of laughs. I adore this series and it‘s so perfect for when you really need an escape from harsh reality. 5⭐️

This is the first Daisy Dalrymple book I‘ve listened to on #audiobook and I don‘t know if that has anything to do with it, but I didn‘t particularly enjoy this one. It‘s not terrible, just seems a bit far-fetched and focuses too much on characters I don‘t care much about. I did a mini buddy read of this with @BarbaraJean as sort of a supplement for the #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead - I read this a couple of years ago but I thought now was the perfect time to try the #audiobook since I‘m still going through the AOGG series. I love this and would recommend it to any and all Anne fans. It‘s fun to see Marilla‘s friendship with Rachel Lynde grow over the years. The narrator is very good. 5⭐️

Nikki_E I have the audiobook and can‘t wait to listen to it. Marilla is such an interesting character. 3w
JenlovesJT47 @Nikki_E she really is! There‘s another book about Marilla that came out recently, I hope to get to it soon. 3w
merelybookish I gave this to my mum for Christmas so glad to hear you liked it. 3w
BarbaraJean I finally picked it up at Christmas and finished just before New Year‘s! I still need to post my review…🤦🏻‍♀️ I really enjoyed this imagining of Marilla‘s past and the way the author developed Rachel & Matthew as well as Marilla. Lots of interesting historical details, too. I hadn‘t thought about the timing of this story with slavery/Civil War—fascinating to see that context across the border in Canada, while following these characters. 3w

Pickpick

The first #AgathaRaisin book written after M.C. Beaton‘s passing is a pick from me. There are differences to the writing style, but it‘s very subtle and I think his additions do something good for the characters. Overall, I‘m quite glad that we will continue to get more Agatha books! 4⭐️
