So the heroine, Anne Best, invites her children to their family home to tell them she's moving to NY to work as an assistant to billionaire Stephen Whatshisname. They are sitting on the soft couch having a stilted conversation about her mother's matchmaking and a few lines later the conversation ends with "I miss you already ... Goodbye." ???
I'm not getting it. So I'm dumping the book before the story really started.
