I love crafting. Recently I've used embroidery to visibly mend torn clothing. This book as over 500 motifs like the few shown here. I can see #audiomending in my future.

1) Yes. I start other books, often ones that I then procrastinate on by starting yet more books. Visit Litsy. 🙈🙈🙈

2) At 3 ch/30 pp/30% if they are very boring/off-putting. When the urge to whack the author/characters over the head with the hardcover edition (in large print) gets too strong. When the inaccuracies outshine the plot/characters; founding member of the #HistoricalFictionInaccuracyAnnoyanceSupportGroup

Both stories about master thieves. Both MCs must have been born under a #LuckyStar. They are capable of stealing anything, even the #Masterpiece from the most protected vault in town.

When's the next book in the series coming?

Forced into working as a wench at the local RenFair this summer, Emily suddenly finds herself handfasted to a pirate, played by her least favourite person at the fair, or is he?

Cute story! I enjoyed the audiobook very much.

#GhostCat decided to snag my seat after I got fresh tea. I swear she had a smug smile on her face when I returned.

Mehso-so

I was drawn in by the cover, which is similar to The Keeper of Lost Things. But unlike Hogan's novel, this didn't draw me in immediately and I was considering to bail several times. I couldn't really connect to the MC. Did not understand why she kept her hobby secret as if it was a state secret. The misunderstanding that kept her from getting together with the love interest was jarring.

I hope the ARC was revised before publishing.

While reading the German Six of Crows to my kid I have often stumbled across awkward sentence constructions, mistranslations (leading to factual error), terrible grammar and punctuation. My kid now hands me the book and a pencil each time we read together. 😁

Medieval and especially religious/monastic history has fascinated me since my teen years. But it's just one period of history that I like. I enjoy fiction and non-fiction set in nearly all periods. I have to force myself to read stories and NF set between 1935 and 1980 though.

RachelO Eek! Jules! I think I need to be taken off this list - sorry! It‘s been so good to try out some of the other series, but I‘m not getting through 1-a-month, so I‘m ending up reading in an utterly random order (not helped by Overdrive due dates 🤯)- think I‘ll attempt more Pratchett at a slower pace. If you see me commenting on 2-year-old posts, don‘t be surprised!! 2w

julesG @RachelO No problem! Wish I could lend you my ebooks or audiobooks. 2w
RachelO @julesG It‘s the one thing with e/audiobooks, isn‘t it? Was thinking the other day I‘d really like to post my kindle to someone... It‘s been a great way to expand my Pratchett reading though- will def read more! 2w
Iblu Hey y‘all!!! I am sooo liking this book! Finishing it by tomorrow I think... love the parts with Granny remembering about her youth and the complexity of her feeling her many lives across the different universes. And Nanny with her dwarf courting her and adoring her ways... and so many funny moments... this is one of my favorite Discworld books!!!! 4d
julesG @Iblu One of my favourite Discworld novels 3d

Lucy_Anywhere So I probably read this as a young teenager and completely missed a lot of the adult references 😂 2w

julesG @Lucy_Anywhere I felt the same. It's so good to reread the Discworld novels. BTW, I nearly spit my coffee across the table at Nanny Ogg checking under her bed for men, because she might be lucky. 😂😂😂 2w
DrexEdit This is definitely one of my top five #Discworld stories. I enjoyed reading this very much. I thought the witches gained layers of character here and Sir Pratchett did a fantastic job with these characters! 😊 👍 2w
TheSpineView @DrexEdit I agree with you. There was a lot more character development which I enjoyed. 2w
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @julesG That was hilarious! 2w
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @DrexEdit I love the witches! I first encountered them with Tiffany Aching, so it‘s so great to read and watch them develop into these great characters as those layers get so wonderful. 2w
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I really enjoyed this one, and loved Esme‘s development. And so much fun too. 2w

#documentaries

Right now I'm watching a docu about things that are no longer in use, like tube TVs, telegrams, or telephone booths - mobile phones have made them nearly extinct.

#TodayILearned that there is a federal law regulating the distribution of telephone booths here in Germany. No citizen should live further than 2.3 kilometres from the next telephone booth. 😵

PS: the tagged book sounds interesting

TrishB Love trivia facts like that 😁 2w
Clwojick Our phone booths are now 3x the cost they were when I was a child. 2w
Hooked_on_books I spotted a pay phone in the wild the other day. It was so shocking to see it! 2w
Oryx In some villages here, they turned the old red phone boxes into defibrillator stations. 2w

Pickpick

I actually picked this up because @4thhouseontheleft's review mentioned this was a zombie novel that wasn't too zombie-spooky (my words, not hers) and contained a zombie goat.

1) JKR, Neil Gaiman, Laini Taylor, Leigh Bardugo, Agatha Christy, Umberto Eco,...
2) If you were to start writing your first book again, would you change anything about the writing process, or the book's content?
3) I'd guess about 500 books, plus books for teaching, cookbooks, my kids' books. I'd hazard the guess that we have over 1.000 books in our flat
