Alaine is a hilarious, snarky MC who must come to terms w/ complicated family dynamics & a life that will never be the same. Steeped in rich Haitian culture & history, family curses, a charity start-up, & commentary on sometimes problematic foreign aid, this was a most enjoyable reading experience.
