so-so
This was a very different kind of read for me. Anne Tyler is a prolific writer. If not for her writing I would've finished the book. Despite the slow-paced plot I enjoyed reading and getting to know the characters. I might check out her future book(s) if it comes highly recommended. cassareada This was the first book I read by her and I was definitely not a fan of it. I was told not to give up on Anne Tyler and that "The Accidental Tourist" is one of her better books. So I'll eventually read that to give her a second chance. 6y
Jee_HookedOnBookz @cassiopia thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to give that a try :) I liked her writing style. I just felt the premise and plot a little too quiet for my liking... Good thing I enjoyed the characters :) 6y
cassareada @Jee_HookedOnBookz you're welcome! For me, I don't know if it was her style of writing, the pace, or the lack of action that turned me off. In her defense I did just finished Dark Places, so going from a suspense book to a lazy Sunday reading may have had some influence. But I did enjoy a few of the characters like Cheryl and Sir Joe, oh and Airplane. 6y
Jee_HookedOnBookz They're my fav too :) it's hard not to love Airplane 😊 do you have a blog? Would love to follow you! :) 6y
