Love the cover... but for me, the book was just ok.
I‘m going to give this a go tomorrow. I‘m a bit apprehensive as I really didn‘t like the book House of Hunger. I‘m hoping I might like this more.
👁️Sunglasses & sleep mask needed after reading this Stoker-award-nominated chiller about a Korean-American college student trapped between racist, chauvinistic men and her growing hunger for eyeballs. Unique, clever, scary read during my work trip to Hawaii. I am now afraid of eyeballs. 👁️ #horror #unique #clever #diversebooks
A dark academia fantasy/ horror novel about students with the gift of persuading others to their will. I thought it was clever and raised some good questions about free will and consent. It was a fun ride.
Hmm 🤔 wasn‘t a fan of this one. Ji-Won is an 18 year old college student struggling through lost friendships, her parents divorce, and her mother‘s new, creepy bf. She feels responsible for protecting her mother and younger sister all while her mental health is deteriorating. The chapters were extremely short and i really didn‘t like any of the characters. There was a lot (towards the end) that was questionable. First half was extremely slow.
An odd but intriguing book
