Good, but nowhere near as a good as Hatchet or Brian‘s Winter.

This one was super short, so only about ½ of it was in the wilderness. Which for me is the most interesting part. Also, very unrealistic – to think the adults would let him go back on his own (he was supposed to be meeting up with someone, but how come an adult didn‘t accompany him that far?). I did find the author‘s note at the end very interesting, though

What starts as a #joyousreturn to the primitive wild, holds plenty of adventure for Brian.

I love this series. It is a great read for middle school boys. There are many things Brian has faced and done, that I can only dream of.

Wow I am impressed with myself this month, I have made it to 12 hours so far, and the rest of tonight and tomorrow to go, what to read next, just not sure yet.

I can understand why this is a top contender for popular books; however, like The Martian and Call of the Wild I am just not into books about things happening. I much prefer for character driven novels. Im not sure if it‘s because I‘m in the middle of a slump but it just seemed way longer than it actually was. “Boy in the Woods with a Hatchet FOREVERRR” Also, totally let down by the ending. #Hatchet #GaryPaulsen
