He would like to speak to the manager about the following issues: not enough petting, has been a full two hours since his last meal, cannot reach the treat jar on his own.

The Voyage of the Frog | Gary Paulsen

Pickpick

Young David‘s Uncle Owen is dying and asks David to take his twenty-two foot fiberglass FROG out to sea upon Owen‘s death, and scatter his ashes upon the water. His journey is fraught with storms/high winds, hunger and thirst, and the loneliness of survival. Well-written and you felt like you were experiencing it all as David was.

This was beautifully told! A look at the mind and musings of 15 yo Wil Neuton who is exploring solitude and self-reliance by coexisting with nature on a small island in a lake in northern Minnesota.

Pickpick

I started the Frances Tucket series today. Book 1: In 1848, while on a wagon train headed for Oregon, fourteen-year-old Francis Tucket is kidnapped by Pawnee Indians and then falls in with a one-armed trapper who teaches him how to live in the wild. Book 2: Frances heads out on his own when he realizes he‘s no longer a boy but a man.

#WeRemember #GaryPaulsen

Like @Klou ‘s #Book2MovieRecs, I‘m doing the opposite and recommending a movie based on the style of book Hatchet is by Gary Paulsen.

This is a wilderness survival movie, with a thriller twist - a man eating bear is stalking the three men on the mountain. Who will survive or be pushed to their edge?

Eggs Well done! 2y
LiseWorks That movie was the best movie I ever saw with a bear. The bears name was Bart in real life. A great actor for a bear 2y
CrowCAH @LiseWorks it was very engaging! Definitely lives on in my memory. Bart is a good bear 🐻 name! 2y
Klou Awesome!! 2y
