I enjoyed the writing and multi-faceted approach to this. A good book that should be read.

There were some things I loved and some I didn‘t. All in all, for this writing style, I think I prefer Douglas Adams.

A good follow up after a serious/hard book.
Binti is a Himba woman who dares to leave for her dream and runs into some unexpected space trouble.
The depth of feeling I have for Binti so quickly into her story speaks so well of the writing. There are so many cool little details. I want to know more about humans in this time! Looking forward to reading the next one. I want to see Binti‘s future.

This was a tough read, but an important one. Shows the everyday hardships and tragedies these women faced and how they shaped their growth - beyond what they imagined they could.

A heartbreaking story with a better end than I expected.
Perhaps a bad pick for a Reading Rush - It‘s a tough book and hard to read a lot of at a time.

I forgot how much I love this book! The writing is good, the characters fun, and the fi is very sci. I‘m going to have to get into the rest of the series again at some point.

“Hardin‘s expression became that of a man counting to ten, mentally.”
It‘s nice to be reading these again after so many years.

I like the way Trevor wrote this book. It felt like we were sitting down together and he was telling me stories - like he does when he tells stories on camera.
Trevor takes you through his South African upbringing both through the eyes of his young self and the adult views and info we need to make sense of them. In a complicated place and time, Trevor dealt with not just the apartheid difficulties but the shadows they left behind.

I really enjoy the way Trevor tells stories. He knows how to punctuate serious content with humor in a way that doesn‘t cheapen it. It‘s woven very well and it‘s so hard for me to put down.

1. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green. A re-read but an enjoyable one.
2. Two, actually - #LLReadathon with my Life‘s Library book club and #ReadingRush2020
