no one else in the world can start a book the way #PKD does. 🖤 #myPKDjourney

Gina Have you ever read some of his short stories in the 50's magazine Amazing Stories? I've been trying to hunt down copies I can afford. And forget the ones with H.G. Wells. I'd need to win the lottery to buy those... 6y
dystopianaut @gina no but i would LOVE to! 🖤 have you ever looked at thephildickian‘s website/facebook/ebay store? i‘m not sure if he has any or if he does how the prices would compare, but the collection he has amassed is astounding and he is always selling bits & pieces! 6y
Gina @dystopianaut thanks! 6y

VALIS | Philip K. Dick

alright, dickheads! here‘s what i have waiting in the wings. which one should i read next?! 👽💕 *i‘m planning on saving the valis trilogy until the very end of my #PKD journey, but i‘m open to suggestion. 🙂 #myPKDjourney

Creadnorthey Man who japed- haven‘t read it but was always intrigued by the title. 6y
Bookwomble I'd recommend going with The Man in the High Castle next - love that story and it's many layers. 6y

dystopianaut @Creadnorthey very intriguing indeed! the general premise sounds slightly similar to eye in the sky. have you read that? 6y
dystopianaut @Bookwomble i can‘t wait to read the man in the high castle! have you watched the amazon series? 6y
Bookwomble @dystopianaut Yes, I've seen it. It takes the main elements of PKD's book and does its own thing with it, but it does that very well. Rufus Sewell is fantastic, isn't he? The book is interesting in itself, but also because Dick used I Ching readings to dictate the course of the narrative. 6y
dystopianaut @Bookwomble rufus sewell is AMAZING in it. such a great actor! i‘ve heard it diverges from the book quite a bit after the first season (which i also think was the best season). so i‘m interested to see how much it differs. and that‘s fascinating! i didn‘t know that! 6y
Creadnorthey Inspired to continue on my journey with PKD police tears next on my list! After I finish the epic Deaths End- highly recommend! 6y
dystopianaut @Creadnorthey that‘s so great!! flow my tears is one of my absolute favorites- definitely in my PKD top 5. can‘t wait to hear what you think of it! 🖤 and i‘m going to have to look up death‘s end! thanks for the recommendation. 🙂 6y
Creadnorthey The 3 body problem trilogy is great so far- be warned though it‘s “hard” sci-fi much of the time- not a usual prerequisite for me- so a sight different than PKD who leaves some of the science behind for a better possible story 6y

just finished reading my 24th #philipkdick novel! 🖤which one should i read next, dickheads?! 👽💕 #PKD #myPKDjourney

Creadnorthey Wow! Ummmm where to begin! 6y
dystopianaut @Creadnorthey haha i know! 😂 i‘m just past the halfway point but i still have a looong way to go. 🖤 what‘s your favorite PKD novel?! (edited) 6y
Creadnorthey Ubik hands down though it has a lot to do with the time period when I read it and the fact that it was one of the first PDKs I read. 6y

dystopianaut @Creadnorthey i think ubik is probably my favorite so far, too! 🖤 but it‘s so hard to choose just one!!! 😩 have you also read the ubik screenplay? 6y
Creadnorthey No figures it would be the same... what about it? 6y
dystopianaut @Creadnorthey i haven‘t read it yet but i plan to! supposedly the ending differs a bit from the original and there‘s additional scenes & more humor. based on interviews with PKD, it seems like he was really proud of it so i look forward to reading it! 🖤 6y
Creadnorthey I‘m about to start reading this... tell me is this a relatively straightforward PKD or not- I need more story less weird right now... recommend?🖤 5y

just finished this beauty. 😍 another step in my long and wonderful #philipkdick journey. ❤️ which #PKD will i read next?! #myPKDjourney

Bookwomble I enjoyed this one. Somewhat similar to Eye in the Sky, if I remember correctly, which I might not be 🤔😆 6y
dystopianaut @Bookwomble i loved it! 🖤 my favorite PKD books are the ones where i think i have a pretty good grasp of what‘s going on, and then he throws in that last minute classic philip k dick twist and blows my mind. this book was one of those! and i haven‘t read eye in the sky yet but i‘ll have to soon! i just finished “now wait for last year”. 🖤 6y
