pickI really liked this. Pretty grim and graphic at times, but there is also much beauty here and some very fine writing. As he states in the note at the end, Whitehead places Two Spirit persons and Indigenous women at the center of the narrative and it‘s these characters, their relationships, and his exploration of home and place that I found most compelling.
