The Little Island | Margaret Wise Brown, Golden MacDonald
Pickpick

This book has was made in 1946. I like the colors shown in the book; the blues and greens throughout the book show different colors of nature.
Aside from the illustrations, I like the layout of the story itself. The book is set up with illustration and poems about the island.
“Winter came
and the snow fell softly
like a great quiet secret in the night
cold and still.“
I enjoy this quote because of the descriptive language and imagery used.

A lovely story about life being bigger than you are but trusting in the process. This book was written about the small islands where Brown had a home in Maine. Leonard Weisgard's beautiful paintings are a must see. ❤ #BBRC #LetterL

IamIamIam @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Enjoy!! Knowing that it was written about a place Brown loved and had experienced love and loss that inspired this book really makes it more powerful. It's beautifully illustrated! ❤ 5y

This book is about an island in the ocean and what is like living there throughout the seasons and how the animals live on it. The illustrations are great and very colorful.
