pickThis review doubles as #BookNDinner! This is my first IS novel, & it was powerfully rendered! Though a fictionalized bio of Vincent Van Gogh, it felt more enlightening than a dry history of the iconic painter. Vincent's character is visceral & deeply tangible. The prose is gorgeous & versatile. I highlighted so many passages--entire pages--of conceptual wit, I kept exclaiming, "Yes! Yes!" More IS on TBR. #PairWith: everything you see here ???.

LilMamaMastro We call this "picnic food" & usually enjoy on Monday nights. Any cheese & salami & fruit & olives(etc.) & condiments & bread/crackers we can throw together. One of my favorite meals; I can well imagine reading this book while doing so. 7y

ApoptyGina69 In'99/2000 I worked in a basement office and we listened to NPR all day every day. There were lots of stories about Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, all the 'Stans and just to lighten the mood, we invented #Snackistan which is any array of tasty pig parts and cheeses, etc. as dinner.
