My favorite Peter David novel. May his memory be a blessing.

Great Star Trek read about how they made the aliens and artifacts for the shows! The last part tells you how to make your own aliens and artifacts!
(1982) Kirk and Spock trade places as captain and first officer under a nonsensical premise. Spock turns into a tyrant, Kirk into a toddler learning the boundaries of “no.“ Turns out their adversary is provoking aggression for scientific reasons, but that leads nowhere interesting. I'd been warned by @RamsFan1963 that this was a bad one. I don't think I disliked it as much as he did but I do think the best part was the first blank page at the end
Seeing that this is the only work of fiction I read in April, I guess it gets this month‘s win by default.

(1981) The Enterprise crew is charged with transporting the king and princess of a planet with rare mineral reserves. The king dies, Kirk goes spy-hunting, and Spock and McCoy take the princess to retrieve a crown that will prove her legitimacy as the king's successor. Mixed feelings: there's a lot going on here, too much for its length really. But McCoy gets a spotlight that is not wasted, and the Spock/Bones dynamic feels about right.
“It's gray, Jim,“ said Dr. Leonard McCoy.

I still haven't finished any of my #readYourKindle picks for January, but time marches and here are picks for February. I've been warned the Star Trek episode is awful, but I've heard good things about the Hamilton, and don't remember why I picked up the other two. They were free, probably. I hope to get to at least two of these and make up for my disappointing show last month.
Lorelei tried to knock things on the floor as I watch a film with friends. She‘s so silly. 😆😆😆

08/100 Imagine Star Trek filtered through Douglas Adams, with a splash of Gilbert & Sullivan, an a huge dollop of the misunderstanding tropes from Three's Company. That's what this book was, the worst kind of slapstick silliness, it even has a pie fight between the Federation and the Klingons!! Amazing that this tripe comes from an author as good as John M. Ford. 2 ⭐⭐
