Apparently #FridayFilms isn't already a thing. I plan to watch Ingmar Bergman's Nattvardsgästerna (usually called 'Winter Light' or 'The Communicants' in the US) tonight with my adult daughter.

@MemoirsForMe HA! I found this book for Misty….and debated whether I should keep it for myself. I did not, figuring I‘d some day find another. Seems it found ME. Thank you so very much, my friend. So kind of you to think if me. 😘😘😘 (Love all the VOTE stuff 👊🏻)
Thank you Amy for this amazing birthday package 🎉🎊❤️ can‘t wait to read this one! Love the wrapping paper too!

I started listening to this audiobook on 3/26/24 and finished tonight. I had to wait for holds, I was reading other books in between, but it has been a constant companion. I watched some of her films, and I enjoyed the experience thoroughly. What an accomplished woman and an inspiration. I‘m a bit melancholy I finished it. I learned so much and I appreciate her much more now than ever. Highly recommend!
I have a new love for Barbra after listening to this 48+hour audiobook. Easily the longest I‘ve ever listened to, but was never bored. She recounts nearly her entire life, starting in Brooklyn with a single mother, her father passed when she was about 18 months. From an independent young woman turning into a do-it-all genius powerhouse. I loved hearing about the causes she‘s supported and politics she‘s influenced. More amazing than I ever knew!
This is like a mini trove of delights of his movies, excerpts from interviews and articles to highlight del Toro's work. Author's is a huge fan, and for an unofficial & unauthorized book, the author does a great job of collecting a lot of data that is probably common or known and mixes it with beautiful images from the various del Toro films and even some of the different inspirations that del Toro has mentioned.
I loved listening to the first third of this book! Such a fascinating look behind the curtain of Broadway and Hollywood. Barbra‘s narration and sound clips were so perfect. Unfortunately I got bogged down with the political stuff 30% in and had to return it to the library because my loan was up. Don‘t know if I feel like placing another hold.
