This book was an emotional and beautiful ride. I would recommend it to everyone. But especially those that have someone with a chronic illness in their life. This book got into what it feels like both physically and emotionally to have a chronic illness at a young age. The frustration, the resignation, the feelings of embarrassment during sudden flares, the worry of burdening those around you.

I enjoyed peaking into the day-to-day aspects of the life of a handicapped individual. Cam is a depressed student returning from a health break. Penny is a wheelchair riding, medical research student with dreams of her own. Their lives quickly become entwined. My favorite character was her friend Ro.

4 ⭐ Joe is a little boy. A little boy who is tired of being considered amazing. He‘s just a normal kid. He‘s no more amazing than his best friend. But he constantly gets told how amazing he is. What Joe is is a one-legged student. Joe is different but being different is normal. Being different is not amazing. Save amazing for when things are amazing. The message in this book is fantastic. The message is treat me like everybody else.

LibrarianRyan Treat me as normal. I am as normal as can be. I just do things differently. Make disabilities normal not amazing or not something to fawn over. This book is excellent and so are the illustrations. 9mo
