Mehso-so

I think this started off strong but just didn't work. The first half is about an American boxer in Juarez. After the boxer's fiancé disappears, the focus changes to a middle aged detective working the case. I wanted it to tie in more to the title since this is a real issue and focus on the crimes against these women. I don't feel it did that. If you do decide to pick this one up, there are some horribly violent scenes against men in jail.

Texreader I would have gotten it for the title for the same reason. Glad to know that's barely touched on. A friend lost 9 family members in a horrible incident in Juarez and so I'm hypersensitive to the crimes there. And I've had a lovely time in Juarez before the massive rise in crime. So sad. 😔 7y
Bookzombie I'm so sorry for you and your friend. That is horrible. I haven't ever been to Juarez and sadly it doesn't sound like a safe place to visit any longer. 7y
