My reading goals this year are to read at least 100 books. I wanted to make more of an effort to read nonfiction as well so I challenged myself to read one nonfiction book per month related to either theology, biography, or writing. I met the goal this month when I finished Tozer‘s “Divine Humilty”. The next book will be a challenge of challenges since I have been trying to read it for over a year. #tbr #nonfictionnotables #theology #christianlife

“If we fix our minds on the holiness of God, the result might be disturbing.” I think Sproul was right. It‘s a heavy topic. But after a break, I‘m back into this book and looking forward to our next study group discussion. #readmorebooks #nonfiction #imlovingit

“I was compelled to leave the room. A deep, undeniable summons disturbed my sleep; something holy called me.” - RC Sproul #whatsnottolike #greatbeginnings #amreading #currentlyreading - My daughter and her ex got this book (a wonderful collection, actually) for my husband and me for Christmas. I read chapter one and can‘t wait to see what‘s next.

This was my gift from the local church. It passed the censors by being an unimaginative tattoo of the idea that "the Messiah is among you. Choose to make each moment holy." That's not how it works. Nobody cares. I am evil but I could choose to be good. So what? Tell me a story, like... The Five People (YMiH). Give me a vision of how life might work and how my choices affect things. This is a common flaw in "inspirational" literature. No story.

My husband and I are working our way through this book together. So far it‘s been a good book. #thefamilythatreadstogether #readaloud #nonfiction #spiritualliving #religion

Ryle delivers with this book. He expounds on the foundations and tenets of Christianity remarkably well. If you‘re a Christian and want to grow in the Spirit or if you‘re simply curious about the religion, I recommend this book to you

Incredible. Requires slow and thoughtful reading. It‘s been 20 years since I picked this up, and I‘m so glad I read it again.

I reread the Holy Man every year. An inspirational book that keeps me in check.

I started this book last summer with my family but we got busy and didn‘t finish. I am happy I finished it as my first book of 2021.
