I read the first three volumes of The Girl from the Other Side. It‘s still early in the story, but I‘m intrigued and picked up the next three installments from my local library. The general plot involves a curse that is passed by touch and which turns typical humans into huge, dark, antelope-like creatures. Which would cool for death-metal bands, but the “insiders” seem to want to avoid such a transformation at all costs

What a volume!!!
Action packed way to start this one, picking up right after the last one with the fight between Hyo, Heisuke and Kumanomi.
That entire moment was amazing and I'm still a bit in a daze about that fight's outcome.

The volume moves on to the others as Sakamoto and gang confront Slur at the abandoned warehouse or it is Slur? Lots more twists and turns at the end of this one so I need to put a hold at the library for the next volume.

Progressive for its time and a commentary on Japanese cultural, traditional norms, this classic 50's manga is a more adult version of Disney where divine intervention created Princess Sapphire, a being with dual hearts of both sexes. Disguised as a boy prince, Sapphire goes on epic adventures that explores gender identities, sexuality, equality, and feminism while presenting all the fairytale tropes.

Volume 8 had me laughing so hard that I was in literal tears. I adore this series and can‘t wait to read the next one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5)

Volume one was simple and filled with humor, however there was a lot of jokes that I didn‘t get and therefore took away some of my enjoyment of the book.

How could I resist this new edition of Wolf's Rain? The Perfect Edition collects both manga volumes and has some tiny extras. It's also a new translation.

I watched the anime and read the mangas when I was a teen and loved it dearly. As a grown I can say that two volumes are not enough for this story to be fully told. I wish there was more. Still, I loved being reunited with those wolves again and also saw some aspects that are still current.

Volume 7 of this series was full of laughs, a surprise “visit” to Princess Syalis‘ home, and the introduction of Syalis‘ mother, the Queen. We also see the beginnings of a low-key love triangle that I‘m intrigued to see how that plays out.

I saw this gorgeous graphic novel in the YA room of the library a few months ago. The art intrigued me, along with the Gaelige words (Siúil, a Rúin — sometimes spelled rún; this means, ‘Walk, my love‘).
I had no idea what it was about. I didn‘t check it out that day, and each time I looked again afterwards, it wasn‘t on the shelf…until a couple of weeks ago, with volume 2. I checked them both out. This is not my first graphic novel, but it⬇️

JenniferEgnor is my first manga style graphic novel. There are 12 volumes total in this series, and I have a feeling I‘ll want to read them all. I don‘t really know how to explain the story…but, in a medieval-like setting (bonus points already!), a plague-like ‘curse‘ has spread, infecting nearly everyone. A small child ends up being cared for and loved by a mysterious horned figure known as ‘Teacher‘. There is some humor, humility and darkness within ⬇️ 3w
JenniferEgnor the story. Its morals and inspirations from historical events are not hard to see. 3w
