so-soTo be honest, I enjoyed the movie adaptation more than the book. While the book was very close to the original text, I think the story of the Flax family suits a visual medium rather than a written one. It was hilarious at times, but there were some parts that should have been left out. Also, Patty Dann's writing is not the best. 2 out of 5.
