The Sonnets and Narrative Poems | William Shakespeare

Sonnet 135

Who knew the word “will” meant so many different things. Apparently in this poem alone, “will” is the “Male Christian name,” a word for sexual desire, AND a word for sexual organs of men or women. Who knew?! “Will” appears 13 times, and “wilt” appears once. They had to keep the capitalisation and italicisation from the quarto, because the different options may change the bloody meaning!!!
