A book club read, it was interesting and a great history lesson. I enjoyed the pictures of the women peppered throughout. I prefer historical fiction to actual history, and this could‘ve been a fun read but the style was very factual and somewhat boring. Women‘s basketball, all female sports really, owe these amazing women huge thanks for the role they had in advancing sports for women. Book #20 in 2024

Great read!

This book shows the sisters bonds and how they grew up together to become strong capable women. It shows us how you can be dedicated to something and achieve your goals by working hard.

This book is about the tennis stars childhood and how their sister bond is strong.

The last call on the right page. I think this was important to include because once you do get out of the bottom, there are still people always there to tell you that you‘re over, or you are not as good as it used to be or not to good it all.

The story reminds me of how many great legends came about. They started with nothing, but ended at the top of the world.

The humbling beginnings of the two William sisters of how they went from a worn out, tennis court in Compton to Olympic world medalists in the challenges they have a face.

I love the sketchbook look of the illustrations in this story.
