This book was pretty good, not great, but good. It's a fun murder mystery plus vampires with a cool mythology. Still, Sookie is a bit dumb and the characters can be kinda racist (the books are set in the south). So keep that in mind when reading.

A solid second book in a series, I just wish there was more Maven because Cal is a bit dull. The powers just get more and more cool as this series goes on.
