Just arrived into my TBR pile Tiger‘s Dream, the final installment of Colleen Houck‘s wonderful YA fantasy series: Tiger‘s Curse

While Megan Derr‘s world building is exceptional and believable, it‘s Michael Spellman‘s narration that keeps me coming back for more. Tournament of Losers is my current ‘GoTo‘ audio book when I just want to float away on a fantasy of lyrical narration and story craft.

“I want to write about faith
about the way the moon rises
over cold snow, night after night.

faithful even as it fades from fullness,
slowly becoming that last curving and impossible
sliver of light before the final darkness.

But I have no faith myself
I refuse it the smallest entry.

Let this then, my small poem,
like a new moon, slender and barely open,
