Up next! My Saturday is now booked.
My daughter-in-law Jennie just sent this to me. 🤣😊 She said it instantly reminded her of me..... She knows me exceedingly well! She also enjoys browsing both of my libraries and oh yeah the #bookstore too! @SquidgetsRoom @Woodchuc67
First #bookhaul of 2020! I love the Maggie O‘Dell series so I‘ve high hope for these lovelies! 📖
This president had a lot of dodgy connections and was a total philanderer ... I‘ve never been a believer in Camelot nor a Kennedy admirer, but I‘ve always been fascinated by how he was so exposed to the possibility of assignation in Dallas that day. His security personnel made many disastrous decisions. On a lighter note Kennedy reportedly could read 1200 words per minute! #Audiobook #History
What a top notch read! Of special note pages 158 - 159 - are the most terrifying and horrifying page‘s I‘ve ever read. I could barely process the words! Which were made even more powerful because this whole narrative is based on true events! This book will leave you gutted by how the judicial system really works but that ending - was perfect! 5🌟
Hey Grisham fans! Did you know this interesting fact???
“Based on the true story of James McCloskey, founder of Centurion Ministries, The Guardians is thinly disguised as fiction. To date, 63 men and women owe their freedom to Centurion Ministries, a shocking number when you realize all these people were innocent and could so easily have ended their days on death row, labeled guilty.”
Some facts I knew but some I didn‘t. A lot happening in this one but a real pleasure to listen to. Very well presented! So many larger than life historical figures, and a ton of interesting facts to fact check! It took me threes times longer to listen because of all the googling I did!
A few of random interesting facts: Thomas and Ellie Jackson married for love. They enjoyed their honeymoon, with her sister Maggie tagging along, oddly enough. They journeyed to Canada to visit Niagara Falls, Montreal, Quebec City then onto the battlegrounds of The Plains of Abraham. So far all I can say is this man lead an interesting life, driven by his own private compass and deeply religious beliefs . The narrative is totally engaging.
Some really great choices!
I hope it‘s worth the endless wait.
Was this a coincidence, if you believe in coincidences that is, or just a really interesting spot of bad luck?! Another truth that is a stranger than fiction moment. I can‘t even begin to imagine what would be going on in Wilmer‘s head with two armies surrounding his home... yet again! Yikes!
There are books you want to love but this book was a struggle to listen to from the very start. I tried to power through it but I‘ve now reached part 3 and can go no farther. I just cannot connect to the characters, they just quite honestly fell flat for me as they seemed underdeveloped. I devoured The Underground Railway and I‘m sadly disappointed that I didn‘t enjoy this book with the same enthusiasm.
Thanks for hosting this fun giveaway @BookNAround
Happy you brought it back again this year!
My last read of 2019 was The Assassination Of The Archduke by Greg King
My first read of 2020 will be The Turn Of Midnight by Minette Walters which will be my first read of the new decade too!
@SquidgetsRoom This just arrived my friend! ❤️❤️What a great way to start off the new year! 😁
Thank you Amanda, Kevin and Rosie for the lovely thoughtful card! Tell Rosie that #Shady checks out all in coming mail, especially from a kitty friend! 🐾#LitsyLove #LitsyMail #CatsOfLitsy
I always knew that the assassination of the Archduke was the catalyst that began the Great War but getting the backstory of these two star crossed lovers was enlightening but bittersweet because of knowing how it all ended. A great read to end my year with!
What Sophie had to endure as a morganatic spouse within the royal family is outrageous... protocol was everything to these cruel people! By all accounts these two were madly in love each other and they
were hands on involved parents at a time in history when both were almost unheard of in royal families.
One of my kitties knocked this off my children‘s bookshelf so I decided to read it. It‘s fun and the illustrations are vivid and engaging. Be prepared to giggle - lots!
I‘ve always been suspicious about the hidden underbelly of Hollywood so not much of this shocked me except: 1 - how complicit so many people were in perpetuating a system that pandered to so many men in powerful positions and that so many of them were women. 🤬😔 2 - that it took so long for someone(s) brave enough to step forward.
Monsters really do exist and all involved in turning a blind eye should face consequences!
Thank you Rose!
Just starting this, but the above paragraph is certainly a lot to ponder... the what if‘s are truly enormous. It‘s unfathomable how the assassination of 2 individuals can be directly linked to so much death and destruction 😔 I sense that this is going to a very interesting and informative listen / read.
Whoa! That‘s a lot of #audiowalking time and doesn‘t include the audiobooks I get from my local library. My wish list appears to be getting out of control. 🤷♀️

Photo bomber! Yikes #Shady thinks he would like to sample some of my coconut rum and eggnog 🙈 at seven months he is into everything! I‘m hoping he‘ll settle so I can start what I think will be another phenomenal read #LiteraryCrew @Chrissyreadit @Sace @Librarybelle You should give this 2 book series a try @SquidgetsRoom Cheers! #CatsOfLitsy
A well crafted and fascinating book! My very first by this author but definitely not my last! 5 🌟‘s This one keeps you turning the pages and that ending has you hastily lurching for the next book! #LiteraryCrew

Phew! Christmas morning is exhausting! Nap time before the feasting begins. Apparently my fur babies prefer line sleeping instead of line dancing! 🐾🐾 Toys ✅ Treats ✅ #Shady #Amber #CallieCat
Merry Christmas everyone! @SquidgetsRoom @Woodchuc67
Wishing all Littens a very happy holiday season. Here‘s to family, friends, great food and books of course.
Up next! This amazing book was a giveaway and is from the late 80‘s. I read it every Christmas Eve to my children who loved it. They have since read it to some of their younger cousins. I eagerly await the arrival of my future grand babies so I can continue the tradition into the next generation! Happy Christmas Eve everyone! Let the traditions begin! #HollyJollyReads
When your grown up children and their lovely ladies still love an I Spy Book! It became an intense challenge to see who could find each item first — a fun family evening followed up by National Lampoon‘s Christmas Vacation. There may have been moose mugs involved too! 🌲❄️ #HollyJollyReads #Christmas2019
Well worth the listen! A moving and poignant look at the real plight of those brave young boys and the actuality of what they endured along the front in WWI, especially what no man‘s represented - but they never gave up hope. Have a tissue at the ready, you will need it. Well done #Audible! #Audiobooks
Not book related but just has to share #CrazyBelle ‘s joy in being vacuumed. She rolls around and begs until you succumb to her quirky demands. We nearly lost this senior girl in September to illness and after a very long recovery she‘s just finally back to her most joyful self! The best Christmas present ever! ❤️🐾❤️ Happy #Caturday
1. The tree
2. Not an on-line shopper so it off to the malls I go!
3. For 25 + years our family always spent Christmas Eve with my wonderful in-laws but they have now passed so our new tradition has become a drive about visiting our family and friends ❤️🌲
4. @SquidgetsRoom @Woodchuc67 @Sace @CocoReads
Just finished #audiostitching this for my new daughter-in-law. My son and she are both cats lovers and rescuers.
I‘m jumping back into the #DeWolfe series again, it‘s so well done. The historical detail is excellent and the interwoven romance is very enjoyable! #Audiobooks #AudibleEscape #CurrentlyReading #HistoricalRomance #HistoricalFiction
