Estoril is an intriguing book. It follows the storyline of a hotel set in Portugal during the Second World War. A fantastical cast of characters cross its pages, both fictional and historical. At times both cynical and heart warming, it is a good read.

An extraordinary book! Some parts make for difficult reading especially those set in Malaysia during world war 2 but the cast of characters and the flow of the narrative will make you not want to put it down.
