The movie was remarkably true to the book - liked the movie better

Harry Potter for adults! Better than Geo RR Martin. Read it, even though it is long.

Inventive, intriguing, well written. It's a relationship book that happens to hinge on a man being unstuck in time. Keeping track of who knew what when is part of the fun. I didn't see the movie.

The best book I ever read- of any genre. I have discussed it in several groups and everyone liked it, even people who don't like SF. It has exploration, religion, multiple sentient races, remarkable characters and beautiful writing - what's not to like?? *DO NOT READ THE SEQUEL!*

One of the best SF books - beautifully written / translated with unique situations and memorable characters. A tale of absolute power.
