Snuggles on Sunday and I‘m almost 500 pages into this. Technically a reread for me but I read it nearly 14 years ago so it‘s really like a brand new story again. #dogsoflitsy featuring Calli who obviously loves human contact.
I hate when things get cut off don‘t you 😜 I gues we could always fill in the blank, let our imagination run wild, guess by his expression, play Pictionary ... I‘ll leave that up to you 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏽💁🏼♀️
"I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. You may have heard of me."
HOLY HOLY. I‘ve never read a book so fast. 11 days with 661 pages. That‘s incredible for me!! I don‘t even know where to begin. Everything was phenomenal and there is everything for everyone. The whole magic system is so unique and easy to understand. There are real consequences where I begged Kvothe not to do/go something/somewhere. Drew me in. This is a book that should be read by everyone. I LOVE IT. Top contender of my favorite read this year!
It took me a long time to enjoy this book. The book is based in a world with little context of it. But after I got into the story, it really took off. The story is a high recommend but with the caveat that it is a series but the third book is pending. Apparently, the author is playing the George RR Martin and not getting the book out.
I pray for the day I can write as beautifully as Patrick Rothfuss.... On page 322 out of 631.
Page 222 out of 661. I find myself sharing all of Kvothe‘s emotions... Sorrow, happiness, love, ambition, and anger. I find myself stopping at a part where he is happy so I can enjoy the rest of my day!
GUYS IM IN LOVE. All I think about and want is to sit down and read this book! It seriously might be the best piece I‘ve read all year. 111 pages out of 661.
Took a week off to reset my mind (what I tell myself so I can watch tv and play games), but girl, it feels good to read again!! I don‘t have much fantasy on my timeline, but this book is a gift from my old co-worker. I‘m only 34 pages in and I‘m already hooked! 630 more pages to go!
SPOILER ALERT: A bartender, Kote, tells the story of his life as Kvothe the legendary arcanist who looked for the name of the wind and found it. All throughout the book Kvothe goes through the loss of his family, to hardships, to living life at his dream place of study.
After I read these two this is how I felt and I‘m still waiting 😳😨📖😋
I just took a “What Kind of Reader Are You?” quiz from the Random Penguin and apparently I‘m the book club boss. Which is funny because I‘ve been to all of one book club meeting. I definitely talk too much, though.
Also I‘m finally making some headway through my Name of the Wind reread! I‘m loving reading the physical book the second time through.
“You really don‘t know anything about women do you?” Is what I want to say to Patrick Rothfuss. Denna is not like the other girls, and women hate her because men are attracted to her... ugh what era was this written in?
Oh boy, this one was a doozy! I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with Kvothe. Cannot wait for the second book! ❤️
Starting this today as a buddy read! Have you read it yet?
This is a fun story. I know that, currently, there are only two books in the series, but it seems like there could be ten eventually. Is it just me?
I'm starting this journey today. I've heard so many people gushing about it. I cannot wait to dive in! ❤️
I wanted a change of pace with something different and this one delivered!
I enjoyed the relaxed pace that allows the tale to unfold naturally and unrushed. If you're looking for fast-paced action, this is not going to be a good fit but if you want to take some time and get to a few interesting characters and be walked through the making of a hero then check out this book.
Reading 📖 in the rain is my favorite thing to do! ☔️ Glad I have such a good book to sit down and read. 💙 I‘m really loving this book so far.
My final stats for #TheReadingRush. I met my main goal of reading 1000 pages and notched up more badges than I was expecting! I didn‘t count my audiobook listening towards my pages read, but I listened to 90%+ of the Name of the Wind this past week, which is pretty impressive because it‘s a very long book!
This was super fun and I‘m excited to participate again next year!
Slogging through this one. Almost done...the audiobook version. It's a commitment, not sure it's worth it. It's just so long and slow in parts.
Time for some breakfast and reading time! Anybody else use sweetened condensed milk with your toast?
Enjoying my Wednesday morning with Eggo French toast, coffee, and this foot-sized book. 👣
Two chapters in so far, and I‘m sort of confused about what‘s going on... but I‘m sure it will all make sense in the next 700 pages! 😅🤞🏼
About to wind down for the evening with a cup of black cherry #tea and my first Patrick Rothfuss book 😁
Magical Systems. On Goodreads, I found a list of some books with Magical Systems. This is only a couple of them. I haven‘t read these books but I‘ve heard that they‘re good. I‘ve seen that people have been complaining because Patrick Rothfuss hasn‘t finished the #kingkillerchronicle series yet. I‘d like to read the first book but I‘m going to wait for awhile because I‘m already in the middle of a Fantasy series right now that I like.
This book has been on my TBR for so long, I even have a paperback copy, but have been hesitant to start because it is SO long. I‘ve been looking for another good long audiobook to listen to now that I‘ve finished going through the whole Harry Potter series.
I‘m about 11 chapters in so far (out of 94?!), and really enjoying. The narrator does great voices, and the intro of the story was really enticing. Excited for this audiobook journey!
I was recommended this book by my penpal. And I was hesitant at first but all I heard were good things about it.& it was fantastic. I love the different arcs that are taken throughout. First person for the story and third for the present. I really loved the different vocabulary that was used. I already ordered the second book and right now the third is set to come out next year and I really hope it doesn't get put off again cause that would suck.
Read 400 pages of this yesterday which I think is a record for me. About a quarter of that at the thermal pools (school holidays!) Who else has thermal pools in their city? These ones are pretty dated but my bones enjoyed the heat 🔥
This is a 5 star fantasy. A fully fledged epic, which stands up to the best of my classic reads but also (thank you lord) depicts gender and class issues thoughtfully. ⬇️
Only one third into this #chunkster but I‘m loving it. What a huge world with its own mythology. I need to read for a couple of hours a day at least if I‘m going to get through it before it‘s due back! #bookwormproblems
Need some help! Don‘t know which of these to read next and figured I could get some help from you guys! I‘ve only got about 110 pages left in NOS4A2 and will be done it shortly. Figured I could check in later tonight to see what everyone thinks and go from there!
Thanks for those who decide to reach out with the recommendations!
I would have to say this is my #1 favorite heroic fantasy novel. I read this book years ago and still think about it all the time. I recommend it to everyone I meet, but especially those that love a good epic story line.
