Nearly finished The Essex Serpent and it's good but I seriously suspect there's not going to be a mythological reason behind the serpent's existence despite the prologue suggesting it was real. That would've been a decent #plottwist 😒
Still reading The Beach and Alex Garland has committed the author crime of revealing appearance details half way through that completely reconstruct 170 pages of mental image 😒 Still a great and gripping book though!
