I'm liking this book more than I thought I would
Perfect book to read at the laundromat! Just started it- so far so good!

Sister Ibinabo was powerful, and because she pretended to wear her power lightly, it only made her more so.
"The gin was so strong it made me choke, but I felt the warmth of the alcohol spreading through my cells and blood vessels and felt instantly better." We have another woman who like her alcohol...we know the problems alcohol caused Rachel on the train! Love it.
My souvenir from Idaho...why didn't I buy a magnet instead?! I'm excited to read it though!
I read this book a couple of years ago and highly recommend it. I was recently at the Capitol and noticed this great painting that portrays Erdrich's influence in North Dakota and elsewhere. She's the best!
A neat book for my vacation so far! But why am I on page 91 and still have no idea how Julia's husband and child died? "Seven months ago..."
"...and waited to feel as if I had really started living. Nine months on I was still waiting." Remembering the love!! (And enjoying wine with my new book)
I've started reading chick lit in between deeper books (like for example, A Little Life was followed by Whiskey and Gum Drops). This was a cute, light hearted book. I compare these to Hallmark shows and movies- cheesy, cute and lovey-dovey.
This summarizes my Thursday night :) I'm only on part two but so far this is a fun read about picking yourself up when you're down (although honestly Tallie annoys me at times with her total negative attitude).
Honestly, it took me a while (~150 pages) to truly get sucked into this book but once I did there was no going back! I fell in love with Willem, Jude, Harold, and all the characters. It is a beautiful yet real book about life, love and friendship. Cried tears of joy and sadness throughout!
Ive experienced so many conflicting emotions while reading this book: love and fear, sorrow and joy, now I think hope and pessimism?! I really am trying to be positive at this point.
