All the Winters After | Seré Prince Halverson

Set around a homesteaders cabin in wild Alaska, this story is an exploration of Alaska itself, as well as community, family and love. The novel delves into dealing with, and healing a tragic past in order to move forward, with the stories three main characters' stories woven beautifully together.

Quick to read, light hearted, dated but delightful. I love epistolary novels, and this is a classic that has been made into am ovine in several different countries. Set mainly in pre-WW1 North American girl's college.

Rereading for book club, and astounded anew at how entertaining this book is. Beautiful writing, animated and heart-warming characters, against a fascinating historical time and event: the German occupation of the English Channel Islands during WW2

One felt nothing at all from the dead. They died, and then they were gone, and one's heart ached from the sudden a sense of feeling more than from any surfeit.

Definitely a "jump under the covers with a cuppa" book. It's practically winter here. Friendly, warm, light and easy. Not a literary masterpiece for my first post, but an uplifting, positive, Friday-night-in book.
