Haven't read anything from this author before. Very unique writing style which I didn't dislike, interesting narrative of voices and highlighting the variety of life but I'm not sure I loved it.

Easy reading, could identify with a lot of what Bella wrote about. She reminded me of the things I do to stay level, which includes but is not limited to running. It's about taking responsibility for your mental health and doing the things for yourself that help you. Everyone should be doing something, and even Bella admits running isn't the solution for everyone! I think you'll enjoy this book even if running isn't your crutch

Suffering with brain fog at the moment and finding reading hard work so thought I'd revisit some easier reads when I found this second hand.

Author's ideals aside, this is an enjoyable adventure book and I've loved picking it up. It's straightforward but not patronising and it's also brought back a good dollop of nostalgia from reading this first time round 20 odd years ago!

I really enjoyed this book, took a bit of a break from it in the middle because I was unwell (not a reflection on the book) but then struggled to piece it all together - lots of page flipping back and forth at the and a good few 'ahhh, I see now' moments!

Brilliant easy reading book, it has inspired me to 'just start' my next adventure when this year has largely forced me into self doubt and delay. It has helped me to cultivate a different mindset which has been so refreshing

I read this book so quickly, I had to know what was going to happen. Upsetting, uplifting and inspiring in equal measure. Fantastic book, but I'd reccomend picking it up when you're in a pretty centred place!

Enjoyable book, there was a lot of ideas and possibilities in this book which was mind-blowing and left a lot of loose ends. Thought provoking book which I enjoyed reading and exploring the concept.

Thursday Murder Club | Richard Osman

Disappointed by this book, I love Richard Osman and was hoping for so much. It was a nice gentle read but won't be reading the rest of the series.

OutAndAbout It disappointed me too. Such a great premise but just felt a little silly. Glad I wasn‘t the only one. 3y

Read this after a single reccomendation from my mum and wasn't aware of the hype. I found it really pulled me in - to the landscape, the characters and the difficulties in their lives. It's an easy read but not frivolous.

While reading I dreamt up several possible endings and I'm sad for the characters on the one that came to pass.

That said, I know I'll be thinking of the characters for the next few days!

Simplykellyk I usually don‘t do the books the hype, but I agree it was good. And I was super sad at the end. But LOVED the twist! 3y

I would not have seen this through it it wasn't a book club read! Trying to find a positive - there are no big words to slow down your reading speed and the story is so predictable you could skip a few pages and not notice 🤣

This took more brain power than I've had for a few weeks so took a bit of a break the middle. Really enjoyed it overall and kept googling the locations, definitely have a new perspective on the war and improved my geography!

Struggled at first with the lack of chapters, but oddly never felt like I lost direction in the story - probably helpful that I read it over a holiday so it didn't sit around too long. Really felt like I was inside the characters head, both fascinating and unsettling!

Surprised myself with this rating. Didn't expect much from the book, I wanted a light holiday read which was interesting enough to keep turning the pages and not too challenging, which I got from this, but also found myself liking the characters in the historical story and even after finishing it thinking back to how things must have been for them. I almost miss the young Emily and Elizabeth!

Took me a while to get in to this, a lack of other options definitely helped me stick with it, but really enjoyed the final third - not at all where I thought things were going!

I'm confused by the rating of this book, enjoyable enough, I read to the end and was intrigued to find out what happened but it hasn't left me with any lingering impact.
