I would probably be quite happy with this book if I hadn't read Hosseinis previous works. The multiple narrations didn't work very well for me. There were some stories that didn't bring anything to the main plot and that for me made a book a little chaotic. Maybe that's how it was supposed to be and I didn't get it. That's fine too. Overall I'd say the book comes a lot weaker than "The Kite Runner" or "A Thousand Splendid Suns"
