How Music Works | David Byrne
post image

I just began reading “How music works“ by David Byrne. In this book, Byrne writes about all the things he's learned while in his long career as a musician. He talks about how music came to be and how the venues change. I am still in the first part of the book but I can tell that it is going to end up being very interesting.

Life of Pi | Yann Martel

Something that I have identified with from Life of Pi is how Pi is so connected to his family. Pi loves his family and they are all very connected. I feel this same way with my family as well.

1984 | George Orwell

I have heard about 1984 before but it never crossed my mind to actually read it. Now after watching the presentation about it, I really want to read it. I like dystopian books and the ideas that are brought up. The quotes in the presentation were really though provoking, and that is what made me want to read this book.

The Girls I've Been | Tess Sharpe

I left the book that I am currently reading at home so today I read the first 5 chapters of The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe. The antagonists of this book are the two men who are robbing the bank. They work against the protagonist, Nora, by holding everyone in the bank captive as they try to rob it.

I am reading a book about the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum's 1990 heist. The book is somewhat non-fiction but it still has a lot of elements of conflict. The central conflict of the book is how so many people have tried to solve this case and find out where the paintings are, but no one has ever cracked it. The conflict tells the story of the largest unsolved art theft in the history of the world.

Life of Pi | Yann Martel
post image

I am in part three and am almost done with the book Life of Pi by Yann Martel. This book has been super slow moving but I am finally at a point that is getting interesting. Pi, the main character, is finally off the boat and is having social interactions with non-tigers. The way that this part of the book is formatted is very interesting. It is sort of formatted like a court transcript between Pi and two investigators.

Lather and Nothing Else | Hernando Tellez

The decision of the barber is so complex and detailed. Captain Torres has killed many people who have the same views as the barber and possibly have been friends with the barber. Naturally the decision falls under morals. The barber is probably wondering if he himself could murder somebody. He wants to, but he does not want it to hang on his conscious for the rest of his life.

Life of Pi | Yann Martel

I am about halfway through the book “Life of Pi“ by Yann Martel. So far, I really enjoy the book. You get to hear the inner thoughts of a very smart and independent teenager growing up at a zoo in India. Pi's family decides that they have to move to Canada. On the way trouble arises and Pi is left alone on a small boat with an extremely large Bengal tiger. I really enjoy the book so far, although it is moving very very slowly. I love the story.
