I love dual timelines and this one has two gripping stories. Jazz Age Chicago with its dancers and bootleggers was a brilliant trip into the past. The story of a young scholar researching one of those dancers gets a much different story than the one he expected. Sooo good.

Did you ever read a book that left you hungry? This cozy thriller—is here such a thing?—introduced me to a White House chef married to a Secret Service agent. She‘s the target of a terrorist plot. The results? Page turningly delicious! With recipes at the end. I‘ll be looking for more of this author‘s books. Soon as I get out of the kitchen.

Do you aspire to write novels? LIbbie Hawker‘s slim how-to book offers an ingenious way to plot your story so that readers keep turning pages. Love this book.
