The Last Weynfeldt | Martin Suter
Pickpick

This was the second Suter novel I inhaled in as many days. The Last Weynfeldt was populated with unusual and memorable characters, and I enjoyed the author's insights into the art world. The novel helped me understand Zürich better, too. It's not necessarily literature that will be passed down through the generations, but it is a completely entertaining and intelligent read. Recommend!

Does anyone else ever "rescue" used books from sales? This is an unforgettable memoir of a woman's experiences in Tuscany during WWII, helping the partisans and caring for kids sent out of cities under attack. It was $1 at the library book sale yesterday and I wanted to rehome it like a lost puppy.
