Saw this on Instagram, while I can't say I'd wear this, I thought it looked like something I can say I haven't seen before. Very cool looking. Wondering if those are actually spines from old books.

"I prefer metal to people, which is why the forge is my safe space."
Loving this book, the main character takes introverted to a new level and is an excellent character.
I'm currently reading The Magnolia Palace, a Historical Fiction I got from BOTM. I was very interested to learn that one of the main characters, Lillian "Angelica" Carter, is based on Audrey Munson, Miss Manhattan herself. Audrey Munson was one of the most famous muses and sculpture models in NYC and was dubbed American Venus. But also, she is the muse and model for "Wisconsin (Forward)". The statue at the top of my home states capitol building.
Does anyone familiar with YALLfest in Charleston know when the tickets usually go on sale? Already have plane tickets and hotel reservations, just waiting on ticket sales.

Coming across several errors, about 3 or 4 wrong words in 60 pages, minor things. Enjoying the book though.
Armentrouts books, especially the FFBA and Flesh and Fire series' I've seen several punctuation errors. Usually a missing quotation mark ending a dialogue line. Found a quotation mark error in all three of the FBAA books and the Shadow book.
This gorgeous gem of a book hiding under the dust jacket! I always read hardcovers with them on, but when I finish them the dust jackets go away and the books go on the shelves in their birthday suits. And pulling off the jackets after reading is like unwrapping a gift, it's exciting to see what's waiting underneath... This is one of my favorite hardcover designs yet.
1) Tagged - Almost finished
2) The Inheritance Games - Absolutely fantastic. The main character is very well created, and the endlessly intriguing plot kept me going. The Hawthorne Legacy was fantastic too and very much looking forward to the final book in August.
3) Gaming Saturday, reading Sunday. The typical weekend.

Just one book can make a significant difference. May your days be bumpy and significant.
Awesome Bookish Box Monthly this month! First ever BBM with stenciling. And a nice Terrasen beanie to boot, among other things, a very nice box.
First book of the new year. And may have plenty of time to read it. A friend I spent some of New Years Eve hanging out with tested positive for COVID on Saturday, despite being vaccinated. Made an appointment for a test for myself, also vaccinated, but couldn‘t get an appointment til this next weekend, no work until results likely.
Happy New Year all! May your books be ever in your favor, So Say We All!

Vespertine
Very Close Runner-up
A Court of Sliver Flames
So, after seeing some posts from @Clwojick and her interesting 2022 book journal preparations, I got an itch to do something to add to my reading experiences in 2022. I came up with two ideas, a Scavenger Hunt, as shown here and a Stats Challenge. I started building a list of things that show up in various books. As of now I have about 42 things on the list, and gave them names. Thought it might be fun.

"Do you know what irony is, de León?" ~Jean-François
"They make swords out of it, don't they? Mix it with coally and hit it with a hammery?" ~ Gabriel de León
? Lol...
"A life without books is a life not lived."
"Put a man in a room for a hundred years with a thousand books and he will know a million truths. Put him in a room for a year with silence, and he'll know himself"
~ Gabriel de León
TBR unruliness. So many many TBRs waiting to go vertical (my TBRs stay horizontal until they‘ve earned the honor of going vertical by being finished…. …. I‘m weird lol 🤷♂️).
I‘ve tried reading multiple books at once, but I get literary headaches trying to keep track of multiple storylines, characters and worlds at once. So it‘s one book at a time for me.
Today is my 6-Year Bookaversary of being a book-obsessed bookworm. Most of my life I avoided books, didn't have the time, was not interested. For several years before 10/15/15, I started feeling the pull. No matter where I was, I started gravitating towards books. On 10/15/15, I succumbed, walking through a random store, a book caught my eye. I bought it, I read it... I bought more, read more. Then more. I converted.
My little Harry Potter cubby, with Knick-knacks I got from the Harry Potter New York store - minus the TriWizard Cup lamp which I got from Amazon.
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone fully illustrated pop up books
-bottle of Butterbeer
-Chocolate Frog (I have no idea which wizard card I got since I haven‘t opened it)
-Deathly Hallows keychain
-Ginny Weasleys wand (on a stand I built with spare Lego Bricks)
FairyLoot FBAA Special Editions added to the few others I have.
Special Edition set of the first three books in the From Blood and Ash series finally arrived from FairyLoot. Loving these foil stamped hardcovers!
#BOTM
September BOTM picked! Rock Paper Scissors
Plus two add-ons: Recursion and Fate of the Fallen.
Home now. My little NYC haul:
Harry Potter New York stuff:
Ginny Weasleys wand (Ginny > Hermione)
Butter beer in bottle (didn‘t try it yet)
A Chocolate Frog (wander which wizard card I have)
Harry Potter/Sorcerers Stone SE Pop up.
HPNY and Deathly Hallows keychains.
12 books from 4 or 5 bookstores. The NY book from the Empire State Building.
Also got 3 Lego sets, but had them shipped from the BIG 5th Ave Store.
Nice day for a Central Park stroll. Don‘t have a book with me for once, but just a walkin‘. Going on 4 miles for me, which is pretty good for this usually introverted homebody. Started at 26th street in Chelsea and just started walking north, still goin, will either hit the Harlem River or pass out first.... I think I‘ll pass a couple bookstores though.
A visit to the newest Strand, Columbus Ave. pretty fruitful. NYC Trip is up to 7 books bought. Two and a half more days to go, with a payday in there.
Couldn‘t ask for a better reading nightlight.
Best bookstore ever!
Finally in NYC, and loving the view from my hotel room window. Time to clean up and go to the Strand (best bookstore in the country, imo)
At Horseshoe Curve (near Altoona, PA). Crossing the Appalachian Mountains by train.
“Librarians have knowledge. They guide you to the right books. The right worlds. They find the best places. Like soul-enhanced search engines”

Chilling outside Union Station waiting for my train, reading Midnight Library under the sort of shade of the tower.
