This light hearted and unusual look at the un-lives of supernatural beings as narrated by Fred the Vampire accountant did not disappoint. It‘s hard to both be light hearted and pull off a believable world in which these beings exist, yet the author does. Much more interesting than the title let‘s on, as Fred continually underestimated himself. Loved it

I'm really enjoying the way Sylvia Boorstein explains the paramitas. My practice has run into this as a sticking point in the past and suddenly I find myself eagerly reading a new bit each day and thinking about how it applies to my life. Others may not find this true but for me her way of thinking and explaining works

My favorite book as a kid and a classic ever since! Heck I would totally cosplay the heck out of max if I didn't have a beard I'm not willing to shave. or I would gladly cosplay any of the monsters. Maybe we should have a wild things party for Halloween lol

I read this book as a pre teen and again as a teen. Now years later book club is reading it and I'm going to once again. Because it's awesome and everyone should read it at least once maybe twice. "So long and thanks for all the fish"

The Magicians: A Novel | Lev Grossman
Mehso-so

I struggled through the first several sections of this book but was determined as I read it as part of a book club. The last couple of sections made me curious about the next book in the trilogy as people said its better. It's the first time I liked a show better than a book! Odd experience.

PurlSquirrel I didn't make it through. I tried to power through but it was a chore for me. The protagonist is so Emo and the Hogwarts/Narnia analogs felt tedious instead of magical. Good for you for completing the selection. 👍🏽 8y
SeanMichael Thanks @PurlSquirrel I'm sorry you didn't manage to finish it but good for you listening to your gut. I have a weird tick of sorts. I can't start a book unless I plan to finish it. I have three in process right now lol 8y
wanderlustywriter I powered through but it was such a chore. I don't know if I'll read the rest 8y
SeanMichael I really do like the Tv show better than this series but I had to read the books cuz I'm weird like that lol the first is most clunky. The show is very different than the books. I mean Main characters aren't remotely who I expected 8y
