'Salem's Lot | Stephen King
Pickpick

This is a brilliant book. Stephen King is so often described as a horror writer and that's true but he also writes so evocatively of small towns and their characters. I love how he describes the town as having it's own perspective and of evil descending inevitably. Very possibly my favourite King book and I've read them all!

Needful Things | Stephen King
Pickpick

I enjoyed Needful Things as I think King describes small towns and the people within them masterfully.

I don't love it as much as Salems Lot, although different "bad guy" the idea of an evil being coming to and infecting a small town is the same and I think Salems Lot is better.

Martta You should definitely try Pet Sematary! Best Stephen King I've read so far. 7y
Shoxford I've read Pet Sematary and I loved it as well. His early work is better than his later work although I have loved some of his later books too 7y
RadicalReader @Shoxford the Pet Sematary Movie adaptations are also wonderful 6y
