Really good set-ups that never really pan out and either end with a semi-shock twist or meander into h.p. Lovecraft tributes. His writing strength lies in the characters and the non-horror, the horror part leaves something to be desired. Also a lot of male teacher protagonists that have trauma from childhood or with women/girls.
