Pickpick

I adored this thriller. It‘s full of messy girls and even messier relationships and lots of murder. Readers who have been bullied might not love this one, though, as the main character has done some really terrible things. It‘s like a queer boarding school Pretty Little Liars!

Mehso-so

I really enjoyed this, but something fell a little flat. I‘m not really compelled to pick up the sequel but I have no real complaints about the book. I worry that reading this while sick tempered my enjoyment. Overall, I‘d still recommend it!

Pickpick

A brilliantly nuanced, heartfelt, and necessary addition to contemporary YA. With a well-written queer cast of characters, intersections of race, sexuality, anxiety, and poverty, and the cutest love story I‘ve ever read, this book will inspire you, break you, and raise you up.

Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World | Ashley Herring Blake

Pickpick

Ivy Aberdeen is the 13-year-old heroine that I needed as a kid. Ashley Herring Blake is adept at writing characters that are intensely relatable, with the perfect amount of teen angst. This book is a middle grade novel, but it doesn‘t talk down to the target audience. I‘m so incredibly glad to have a book to recommend with a queer girl character for younger teens.
