Pickpick

This is not one of my usual picks to read. I had been seeing this book on websites and talked about in various reviews. On a whim I decided to purchase it. I was too curious and intrigued not to. I was very surprised. It brought me through a range of emotions: I laughed, I felt sad, I loved the story, I hated it, I loved the characters, I hated more than a few. In the end I can only say it was a great novel: a 4 out of 5!

The Stand | Stephen King
post image

In 1978 Stephen King published The Stand. The Stand was incomplete, since more than 150,000 words had been cut from the original manuscript. Now it is restored to it's entirety. It includes more than five hundred pages of material previously deleted, along with new material that King added as he reworked the manuscript. It gives us new characters and endows familiar ones with new depths. It has a new beginning and a new ending.
