4 years ago my childhood best friend and I started our journey through the Neapolitan novels. Tonight we are beginning the last book. 💜🦋
A delayed week 5 wrap up and week 6 check in for #bfcr3 Week 5 saw a major shift as I began my first post graduate school job! I am now an employed project archivist. I did about half of my weekly exercises: 1 gym class, Yoga, and long walk and have maintained healthy eating. On my day off today did an #audiowalk with my special guy #dobby and reflected on how I will continue with the goals set from this challenge. #TeamFitLit #pitbullsoflitsy
A very delayed week 4 wrap up post for #bfc Ended up going to the gym 2x, did a yoga class (I was short one) and walked way over my weekly goal (weather has been beautiful here). One walk included a big family hike of 3.5 miles. This book will wrap up my challenge goal of 6. I am struggling with it a bit though. Sadly it feels just ok for me, I guess my expectations were too high. #TeamFitLit #bfcr3
Another stellar year for the Decatur Book Fair. Visited one of my favorite booths and renewed my subscription for the Georgia Review. Also got to see my kids perform with their Capoeria group on one of the event stages. Beautiful weather surrounded by bookish people. Good times all around. #dbf2019
My week 3 wrap up A big shout out to our amazing team captain @4thhouseontheleft who sent wonderful words of encouragement via mail this week. Thank you for helping to keep us on the path towards channeling our motivation to reach our own personal goals. #bfc #bookfitnesschallenge #bfcr3 #TeamFitLit
Enjoyed my audio walk this morning with my boy in this incredible unseasonably cool southern weather. Got some #pokemongo in as well (anyone play? wanna be friends?). I‘ve hit that sweet spot in Voyager now where we are reunited with some beloved characters. I enjoy slipping back into Claire and Jamie‘s world. #bfcr3 #TeamFitLit #bfc #audiowalk #pitbullsoflitsy #dobby #dogsoflitsy
Beginning my 5th book for the #bookfitnesschallenge 40 pages in and really enjoying the historical aspects and tender, budding love story. I inadvertently learned a valuable lesson this week. I ended up throwing myself into my fitness challenges and books in order to deal with being overloaded mentally (passing of a family member and other stuff). It proved to be a positive coping mechanism. I‘m thankful for this challenge today. #TeamFitLit
Finished my last #bookfitnesschallenge goal for the week. This week was not kind in helping me find my motivation to read or move my body. I dug deep. I felt mentally and physically drained. Thankful I could finish. Now to celebrate with a book and a blueberry lemon pop. #bfc #bfcr3 #TeamFitLit
Put the books down to rock with the legend tonight 🤘🖤
Dobby and I are ready to take on week 2 of the #bookfitnesschallenge We will start with our walk tomorrow and then finish up this amazing book. I am anxious to see how it will end, but at the same time I don‘t want it to! Gosh this is such a remarkable read! #bfcr3 #bfc #TeamFitLit #dobby #dogsoflitsy #pitbullsoflitsy
Week 1 check in for the #bookfitnesschallenge
It was a good kick off week, thanks in part to the kids back at school. After avoiding gluten all week, I caved a bit today and let my cravings get the better of me. I indulged in a non gluten-free baked good. Needless to say it made me super ill. Lesson learned...your body just can‘t tolerate some stuff...reach for the dark chocolate and wine instead! #TeamFitLit #bfcr3 #bfc
I tried, I really did. I attempted to check my own personal distaste for the “self help” genre and go all in with an open mind, but it didn‘t work. I appreciate the sentiments to autoimmune disease, but it just fell flat. One of my mini goals for #bfc was to have one book be a “self help” book, but alas this is not it. #bfcr3 #TeamFitLit
Book 1/6 completed for #bfcr3 After doing my morning walk of 3 1/2 miles, in the disgusting humidity that is the south right now, I cooled off and finished this book. I totally see why Jeff Vandermeer is quoted on the back of the book, as its got some serious Annihilation vibes. There are connections to climate change as well. Bonus points for strong female protagonists and LGBTQ representation. A solid 3 1/2 ⭐️. #bfc #TeamFitLit
Alright Monday morning I got you! Walked the 2 youngest kids to school, then looped back around and picked up my boy and continued on! I need to remember this feeling of accomplishment. #bfc #teamfitlit #pitbullsoflitsy #dogsoflitsy #dobby #applewatch
#bfc #TeamFitLit Along with these goals I have also set out to accomplish a few other mini goals. I. Take my meds, vitamins, and supplements daily 2. Keep off gluten, eat less meat, and limit sugar intake 3. Out of my 6 book goal, include a “self help” and “professional” book (I‘ve recently finished grad school and I just landed my first job) 4. Remind myself that caring for “myself” is as important as caring for my 4 kids, partner and dog.
My mom has got all 4 kids for a few hours! So I‘m taking myself on a date today....alone. First up: a little reading and cappuccino before it gets too hot outside. Next: off to the art museum to see an exhibit. Yay!!
Scored this gorgeous book at the library today ❤️🏳️🌈
I need to give a shout out to the folks participating in the #bookfitnesschallenge While I missed sign ups due to conflict during deadline, and I‘ll admit my own personal hang ups with self care and exercise, I was so inspired and motivated by ya‘ll‘s accomplishments. This a.m. I braved the gym and took a class. Thank you for inspiring me! Bravo to your dedication and hard work. It has not gone unnoticed! My sore body will now read this book..
Today was a lot. My littlest munchkin had surgery. I don‘t think I quite anticipated how worn out I would feel. The necessity to stay calm and strong knowing their fear, and the wait for wake up from anesthesia has left me spent. But alas, surgery was a success, we are now home, and like magic my book mail arrived. Now for couch cuddles, my little nestled in the crook of my arm, and a good book. Thanks for listening fellow Littens 💚
Doing a little audio knitting this afternoon. I am really enjoying switching back and forth between audiobook and physical copy for the Outlander series. Especially the ability to speed up when bits seem to drag on tad. I do love the immersive effect of the narrators voice. #knittersoflitsy #audioknitting
I love Cantero‘s style, so I‘m of course stoked to start this one!
An interesting little story I found at the library recently. A mix of dystopian themes and magical realism, sprinkled with tales that have been passed down from generations before. A solid 3 1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️‘s.
1000 pages, 153 to go, in this epic story. I bumped up the #losersclub read to prepare for the second installment of the movie hitting theaters. I‘ve alternated between audio book and physical copy and it is nothing short of remarkable. Love this story. #constantreader
About to begin the 4th story in this book. I have to say this collection really showcases King as a story teller. Each section is phenomenal. A true testament to the master of his craft. #losersclub #constantreader
