I didn‘t like this one as much as the first but it was still good. I‘m not into love triangles and this one feels forced. This one has more of a magic focus than the first. #readwomen #audiobook

Loved this new to me series. The characters are well developed and the witches and magic flow naturally as part of the story. The mystery is good and kept the story moving. The romance has a triangle but seems to favor one more than another. Looking forward to the next one. #readwomen #audiobook #cozymystery
This is between pick and so-so. I loved the first half but the second half kind of lost me. A little too much manifesting for me. #readwomen #audiobook #librarybook
The writing is so easy to read. I found the story to be a little long and not overly interesting. I skimmed a lot. The last few chapters were good. #readwomen #bookclub #librarybook
So...I don‘t listen to their podcast and I totally missed this was a self help book. I was expecting true crime. Since I‘m not already invested via the podcast, it‘s a book by two gals with mental illnesses talking about their lives and how they got here. It has some tips but they repeat they aren‘t trained in anyway to give the advice they give. I think you might have to be a fan to care about this book. #readwomen #audiobook #librarybook
This is an important book. It‘s one of those books you want to buy a million copies of and give to everyone (er, man, every man). It‘s also one of those books that will only be read by the people who already get it sadly. It will enrage you, make you want to burn it all down. But it‘s worth it. #readwomen #audiobook
#notinlitsy I found this at my library about a local fire. It was put together by the newspaper editors (which is a little surprising because it‘s in need of a few edits). The photos are great and it brings home the reality of wildfire in our community. #librarybook
I enjoy this series. This one was a little more predictable than the first. But overall I enjoyed the story and the mystery. The family dynamics play a big role in this one again, with different family members. The cats are there but less involved than the first one. Will look forward to the next. #readwomen #cozymystery
I can always count on Shalvis to deliver a steamy romance with great characters. Willa has to get past her abandonment feelings to accept love. The angst drags on a bit because there isn‘t much else hanging up their hea. Lots of good Christmas cheer and this group of friends is amazing. #readwomen #romantsy #holidayreads
Another #notinLitsy - this one was laugh out loud funny and so heartfelt. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. #audiobook #pridemonth
I‘m a big baseball fan and played softball my entire youth into college (rec league). I have been a Jessica Mendoza fan for a long time, since she played in the Olympics. I‘ve followed her career and am excited she‘s on ESPN now.
She wrote this book with her sister. It‘s about playing softball but it‘s always about how family dynamics change as we grow up and about being authentically yourself. I loved it. #readwomen
How I spent my day!
This book is sexy, steamy and has a great story. Shalvis is good at writing relevant stories including popular pop culture references and social media memes and modern slang. I enjoy her writing so much. #romantsy #readwomen
This is a really heartwarming story about three unlikely kids who become friends. I read it for my book club as a Newberry Award winner. Definitely recommended. #readwomen #diversebooks #librarybook
I love cats and cozy mysteries. So both together is magic! I didn‘t figure out the murdered, which is always fun. I liked it so much I already picked up book two. #cozymystery #readwomen
I just read Catnip and Culprits. It was a free prequel to Greyhounds at the Gravesite. It‘s a novella about a story Sam did when she was an intern at the paper. Good set up for her and her friends. #readwomen #cozymystery #novella
This was quite entertaining. I didn‘t know what to expect but have of course heard of Jeeves for my whole life. It was fun and I liked the short stories format. I plan to check out more of them on the future.
This is heart wrenching. The people who NEED to read it won‘t. But it‘s a good reminder what is happening, how little people understand immigration and that America has a long history of being unkind. #diversebooks #librarybook
This is a really fun cozy mystery. It touches going home again, internet embarrassment, and pets! Sam returns to her hometown after a work breakdown and after months of sulking at home, she becomes the Pets Reporter for the local paper. Her first story turns into a murder, no one thinks happened but her. She has good friends and good family. And there‘s pets! #cozymystery #readwomen
I loved the setting of this one - southern pottery has such a great history and made a wonderfully setting for this cozy mystery. Molly is a great heroine. This had a very satisfying, untraditional ending. #cozymystery #readwomen
This is a super short listen about a tiny piece of Marie Curie‘s life. It was interesting, there‘s romance. Definitely made me want to learn more. #readwomen
This is a cute book full of unicorn information - complete with a bibliography. The illustrations are colorful and fun. This is just a joyful book. #readwomen
Super cute novella. I love the heroine and wish it was longer because she is smart and sassy and we need more of that. #readwomen #romantsy #readingwomenchallenge - novella
This started out slow for me and I was wondering what all the hype was. But it gets better. The love of Cuba really pulled me in. The history of the place and the people are what made this great. The romances were on the instalove scale but the connection between the generations is intriguing. #readwomen #readingwomenchallenge - multigenerational
This was okay. It was a very surface covering of the VanDerBilts and the rich and famous people of the day. There were a lot of interesting tidbits but overall I found myself asking who cares. Not because the topic wasn‘t interesting but because it often read almost like lists of famous people, things done to the house, instead of a story. #readwomen #readingwomenchallenge - Appalachia
I loved this second edition to the series - the friends of the Secret, Book and Scone Society take in a lost young women who they find in the bookstore. The book takes us on a mysterious journey of her story and the murders following in her wake. There‘s even a bit of romance for Nora. #readwomen
I love this series. Veronica and Stoker have such a great dynamic. This setting was mysteriously wonderful - and island with tales of mermaids and pirates and an old castle. #readwomen
I really enjoyed learning about Harris‘ life, family and policy. She‘s candid and interesting. I‘m a little bias since I‘m #KamalaHarris2020 but it did tell me more than I knew before. #readwomen #readthecanidates #librarybook
This is one of the best books of the year for me. All the stars. It‘s so well written it almost reads like a novel instead of a biography. Virginia Hall was an amazing woman, who helped WW2 succeed for the allies. Highly recommend. #readwomen
Had to read this for work. I think there‘s a lot better examples of leadership than Attila the Hun. Meh. The author wrote sections as if Attila was speaking, which was a little hokey to me.
I love this series. It‘s like my comfort listen. Lucy is a fun mystery solved librarian. I wasn‘t sure how it would all turn out - who did the crimes and how it was all connected - but it was tied up in a nice way. #readwomen #cozymystery
This is really powerful writing. I understand why it‘s a classic and so well revered. I felt Esther‘s spiral of mental illness, it was very moving. #readwomen #bookclub #readingwomenchallenge - woman with mental illness
This was an interesting book, published in 1988. We love to vacation at Ft Bragg and always intend to take a train ride but haven‘t yet. I got this at my library book sale. The old photos and information on trains are neat.
Well it wasn‘t what I was expecting. It‘s more looking back and ends...not how I like things to end. But it‘s a unique story and mostly held my interest. #libraryread #readwomen #diversebooks
This book is long and a bit intense. It reads like a spy novel. There‘s a lot of WW2 French spy history here, a lot of detail on various spies within Fourcade‘s network. I love learning about women history forgot/pushed aside/didn‘t include in the narrative. #readwomen #librarybook
Another good addition to this series. It‘s an older couple discovering love unexpectedly and family in unlikely places. #romantsy #readwomen
This book has great tea party ideas - including savories, sweets and matching teas. I‘ll admit most of the recipes are beyond my culinary skills (which are very low) but I did tab two recipes to try - toasted cheese buns and long John‘s lime cookies, both inspired by Treasure Island.

Oh my goodness Ashley!! You spoiled me so much. @BookwormAHN you‘re a gem! Thank you so much. Thanks @Endowarrior21 for putting this on. A successful first #litsyswap. #hogwartsinthespring
Eek can‘t wait to see what‘s in these #hogwartsinthespring @BookwormAHN #hogwartsinthespring swap
This was a really unique story. I enjoyed it. It‘s a little bit of a thriller but mostly about family loyalty. Look forward to more from this author. #librarybook #readingwomenchallenge - mystery/thriller #diverseauthor #readwomen
What a bummer. The best part of it is the title. I‘m continually surprised what publishers are willing to put their name to and take our money for. I guess I shouldn‘t be.
I‘ve been wanting to read this so grabbed it on a kindle sale recently. It‘s so cute and heartwarming. I just love it! Love is love 💖💖
This was a really enjoyable book. I love when authors narrate their books. It adds so much enthusiasm. The stories in this are mostly funny, I definitely LOL‘d a few times and definitely relatable. Ayser and her mother‘s back and forth really entertained me. #readwomen #diversereads #readingwomenchallenge - religion not my own
Oh friends. This book is so bad and it hasn‘t been reviewed anywhere yet. Let‘s just say the autocorrect errors start on the first page and set the tone for what seems to be an unedited book that no one fact checked (because it‘s filled with incorrect information). There‘s also very little history. There are some great photos from the 1930s.
I had a hard time starting this one but once I did, it went fast. It‘s an easy, quick read, really well developed characters. The plot between the two families is a little meh but the discussion around motherhood and adoption was really interesting, especially in the context of race. The writing of the characters is what pulled me in. #readwomen #bookclub #librarybook #diverseauthor
LOVED THIS BOOK!! I was so good I‘m thinking of getting it in print also. It‘s part biography of Milicent Patrick and part journal of O‘Meara as she tries to finds Milicent and the truth behind what she accomplished, then add in some #metoo and movie making knowledge. The author‘s enthusiasm is contagious. #readwomen
I finished my #readharderchallenge for 2019!!! I did it about a month faster than last year. Loved the prompts this year. @bookriot
I didn‘t read this series in order and wish I had. It‘s such a great cast of characters. I love Julia and her sleuthing skills. I love that the main mystery is her family, finding them and tracking down answers. It was a really good mystery, I think I‘ll check out others in the series. #readwomen #cozymystery #readharderchallenge - cozy mystery
I‘ve tried this series before and forgot I don‘t enjoy it. It feels written in the 70s even though it‘s “modern day”. Maybe that‘s Virginia?? I don‘t know. I feel like Harry is 60 not 40 (my age).
For this story, there was A LOT of filler with car information. The pets weren‘t very involved as they have been in past books, which was disappointing. #readwoman #cozymystery #readharderchallenge - animal as a POV
