So, I enjoyed this one for what it was. A bit far-fetched, but -- what dark smutty romance/murder academia isn't? Overall kept me entertained 🌶️🌶️

Here‘s my #bookspin for March, trying to fill in some #litsyatoz prompts at the same time. 😀 @TheAromaofBooks @Texreader
A friend suggested I read Between the World and Me, but it wasn't available, so I thought I'd get the next best thing.
I really enjoyed the first half of the book, It was thought-provoking and I found it very interesting, even learning a thing or two.
The second half I found a bit boring and laborers to get though. I'm not denying the importance of the subject matter, it was just that I didn't really feel a connection to it.
I loved this book and wish I hadn't let this sit on my bookshelf for so long!
Miranda inherits a Bookshop from her estranged uncle, that includes clues she has to decipher, just like when she was a little kid. I had to suspend disbelief a little, as it seems he left a lot up to chance. But the whimsical nature of it lightened the heartbreak of the story.
And I loved all of the references to Shakespeare and the classics!

A slow meander through a fictional look at the start of Hollywood, with a sprinkling of nostalgia for the silent film industry. Doreen O‘Dare is the fictionalized portrayal of Colleen Moore, a silent film actress and the creator of the Fairy Castle. Reading this book makes me want to watch silent films! A good choice for #SundayBuddyRead .

This felt like a summary of a lot of books I've previously read.
There's a lot of useful information in bite size chunks you can use as needed for different areas of personal growth. But it doesn't do a deep dive into any one area. So if you know what you'd like to grow in I'd suggest finding a book that goes more in-depth.

I enjoyed the first half of this short novel; the second half was not so much. I previously struggled the last time with Conan Doyle‘s telling of past events in America, and this one left me feeling similarly. I guess I‘m all about Holmes‘s deductions and not reading about the lawless American West through the eyes of Conan Doyle!
So-so for me, but this checks off #LetterV #LitsyAToZ and #InThePublicDomain #52BookClub25 ! #NoPlaceLikeHolmes
A very soft pick for me. Henry has taken the romans tropes and played around with them a bit, but ultimately, it‘s still an enemies-to-lovers story. It‘s well-written, with character development, but apparently I only enjoy romances in December. And I‘m also a bit of a prude ‘cos I don‘t like the spicy bits!

This was a very quick read. A bit young, and the characters lack emotional depth. But the story did grab me.
I'm definitely reading the rest of the series.
