I'm lucky that my Monday morning diner averts their eyes when I cry when I'm reading. This is a wonderful book for readers of all ages. How I wish I had this book when I was growing up. Luckily, I can suggest this book to people looking for a good read!

I took myself to dinner and devoured more than my meal. When I saw the last panel and saw there were no pages left, I wanted to shout, "I NEED A SEQUEL! "
Bina and Austin reminded me of my friendship with my male best friend....only he moved away the summer I turned 14. We're still friends to this day.

Read this book to remind of the moment that made you fall in love with the passion in your life.

You won't regret it.

Raw. Emotional. Perfection.
Note: I read this during brunch and cried. Many people were concerned. Many walked away with the title and author of this moving book.

I read this book solely on cover and a spurt of some of my favorite graphic novelists having this ARC in their pictures.
I knew nothing except it was about camp. What I got was a little bit of my adolescent self: raised by immigrant parents, not fitting in socially or economically with my peers and the longing to be like everyone else.
This GN was charming and heartfelt. Vera's journey was a pleasure to follow!

There's so much of me in this quote that it was painful to read. On the other hand, there must be others out in the world like me...

When I got this book, at first glance, I thought it was about ballet.
It isn't. It is about ice skaters. More than that, it's about the many relationships that are built and broken over the course of Tillie's adolescence.
The story is told so lovingly that when it ended, I felt joy and sorrow. The illustrations in this book are beautiful, painful and full of emotion.
I'm a better person for reading this. You will be, too.

I loved it. It took me on a magical ride and didn't let me go. It also taught me to be kind to everyone because you never know when you'll be meeting a shape-shifter. ❤️❤️
