The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao | Junot Daz

Feeling conflicted about my prior post. The book is wonderful, but posted about re-reading before the news about abuse of women emerged. Just saw him at an author visit in Buffalo and he was insightful, articulate, political while letting his humor emerge. Sad. What will his future be now.....

bio_chem06 I've been following this story for weeks. I'm very surprised that pbs kept him on the list for the great American read. I also heard today that his job at MIT may be at risk but he has tenure, so he's probably really protected. I'm so sad because he was one of my favorite writers ever. 6y

lmbix I agree...not completely surprised that the novel remains because of its excellence and clearly they are trying to be inclusive and not delving into the lives of the authors. Thanks for commenting! 6y
