Got from library on a whim after watching Jaws at Christmas. A mix of fun 80s style commercial writing and 80s style cliches and language about gays and women and nonwhite characters that makes you realize we actually have progressed. Skimmed second half and returned to library without actually learning what happened.

Book most recently finished before signing up for Litsy. Reminded me a tiny bit of House of Sand and Fog. Slowish-burn escalating family tragedy with difficult narrator and perfect ending.
