I think this is one of my top three favorite Daniel Pinkwater books. I daren't spoil the ending, but it's got a great message regarding spirituality and authority. Along the way, it has fun, adventures, and some twists and turns. Highly recommended for kids of all ages.

I love this book. I must have read this twenty times as a kid. Daniel Pinkwater gets what it's like to be a kid. There's fun adventure but also the strange thrill of being a kid and staying up late by yourself. As a kid, that was realistically tantalizing.
