It's been a long time since I started and finished a book in the same day. Very easy to read and enjoyed the paranormal elements added to the thriller main story. The end seemed too rushed and easy but I did like the how it ended. Would have been nice to have a bit more back story of the protagonist and Gloria. Other than that I really enjoyed this.

Tried to read this 12 months ago but gave up after about 200 pages. Just given it a second go and really enjoyed it. Not sure why I seemed to struggle with it first time round. Well worth persevering with.

Ddzmini The whole series is fantastic 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼📖😋 5y
sigriff @Ddzmini I have already bought the next couple of books. 5y

Waiting to go off to the charity shop. Need room for the grandkids stuff and I'm pretty much fully digitised nowadays. This is the first lot to go.

Time to enjoy a good doorstop of a book. Really enjoyed the first one in the trilogy and I have a week off coming up.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Good pace, felt like a thriller at times, reminded me a bit of starship troopers. Will probably read the sequel.

A bit clunky in parts but once the pace gets going I found it difficult to put down. A real surprise this one and enjoyed it.

Mehso-so

Was quite disappointed in this. I was expecting a sort Moby Dick but with Drax replacing the whale. I wanted more between Sumner and Drax but felt a little cheated. The writing is good but the pace is too quick and, too shallow.

I wanted more from the ship owner, Baxter, but the relationship between Sumner, Drax and Baxter is just too simple for all the murder and plotting that seems to be happening and the ending feels too simple and rushed.
